Tuesday, September 6: Day 10.

It's soooo nice to know we have several days in one place. This is a very nice and level park. Super convenient to the park entrance. Today we had reservations for a boat ride so we would be able to secure entrance to the park because didn't realize how restrictive. things were.

However, at 8 am. we went online and secured a 3 day pass so we are golden for the remainder of our stay here.

On the drive to our boat ride, we stopped for a look at McDonald falls. It was pretty but no quick way down from the pull out.

The pics. below are from our boat ride. The top is of the head of the lake which shows a big U where a glacier had traveled.

This shows the results of several fires the last in 2018. The trees with green tops survived the fire because of its layered construction. It takes a heat of 140 degrees for the pine cones to open to distribute seeds.

The opposite side of the lake is fully forested. No fires.

This is a closer shot of the head of the lake.

The boat tour originated from a dock behind the McDonald Lake Lodge.

On the way back to camp from the boat ride, we stopped at Sacred Falls. This did have a very doable path down to the edge. Mother Nature had pretty much carved steps to the water's edge.

This portion of a larger rock formation was interesting to see, but looking at the image, maybe you had to be there.

Tomorrow we are traveling clear through the park on Going to the Sun Road then winding below park on a road the camper was too long to travel to come back west and do grocery shopping in Kalispell. Long day. Maybe no blog.
