Today, September 1, day 5 of our travels, took from Medora, ND back to Dickinson, ND (30 miles) to return our rental car. From there we traveled 300+ miles to Billings, MT which measured 95 degrees F when we arrived about 6 mountain time. What am I going to do with all my jeans and sweatshirts?

Last night we attended the Medora Musical. It is a long standing event that occurs nightly during the summer season. It commemorates Medora, veterans, and other uplifting family values. The performers - band, singer/dancers, emcees, horseback riders and handlers and were spectacular.

The ending of the show featured are horse and rider with the American flag cantering up the hill you see behind the set in a zigzag pattern to the top of the hill in the dark with a big spot light. i was both amazed and afraid for the horse. All was fine. The show ended with mini fireworks honoring the USA.

The only thing that topped the show was sitting outside afterward where the campgrounds was completely dark and there was no ambient light until a car went by. There were a gabillion stars and the Milky Way and the big dipper. I haven't seen that many stars since a windjammer cruise in the Caribbean over 20 years ago. It was dazzling, remarkable and mesmerizing all at once. Of course, it was impossible for me to capture with my iphone or my camera.

The following three shots are from the truck moving through Montanna. First is corn and mountains. So not Illinois.

Below is a shot of the Yellowstone River. There were so many awesome shots but the huge mirrors on the rv get in the way of art.

A Montana farm/ranch tucked behind the trees from the north between tow hills that hold up the interstate.

We are tucked in at Yellowstone Campgrounds in Billings for two nights. We are steps away from the Yellowstone River. Thanks for a level site.
